… I take a big vacation. Yesterday I decided that since it was a blue moon I would look to see when the last one was. I could then see if it was possible to figure out what happens once in a blue moon.

The last blue moon was in March of 2010. I returned from my last big vacation at the beginning of March 2010 and I am leaving on another big vacation on Monday. Even though the days are not exact, I decided that they were close enough to say that ‘Once in a Blue Moon, I take a Big Vacation.’

So, first the last big vacation. My last big vacation was a two week cruise to Antarctica with my sister. I was planning on taking the cruise to Antarctica to celebrate my masters degree completion and my sister decided that she wanted to go with me. For the post today I am simply reposting some of the pictures I have already posted about the trip. The links that I have added are to the previous posts that either contained the pictures or were about what is in the picture. Some have additional pictures and may not be just about the Antarctic trip.

Christ Church Cathedral – Falkland Islands

We visited the Falkland Islands where we got to see Christ Church Cathedral.

A Waddle of Penguins

We saw a lot of penguins at Gypsy Cove.

Iceberg in Antarctica

In Antarctica we saw a lot of icebergs and also penguins and whales.

Ushuaia Reflections

We visited Ushuaia, Argentina, a beautiful city at the tip of Argentina.

The Lighthouse at the End of the World

We saw the Lighthouse at the End of the World.

We also visited Puerto Madryn, Argentina but I haven’t posted pictures of it yet.

We got to see an interesting bridge in Uruguay.

We visited the colorful barrio of La Boca in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Street Tango

And saw people doing the Tango in the street.

Then it was time to return home with great memories.

Oh, the next vacation? On Monday I fly to Israel for a Bible Lands Tour. A trip that I have been looking forward to now for the whole year. I have spent the day getting ready, finishing lawn work, coordinating with my house sitter, laundry, packing, etc.. The start of vacation is slowly creeping closer.

I hope to capture some pictures that are as good as the ones that I have posted above. I will be sharing some of them each day during the trip as long as I don’t have any troubles with Internet access.

So enjoy the pictures from my last big vacation and look forward to new ones from the next one.
