Views from our Jerusalem Hotel

The last few times I have been to Jerusalem we have stayed at the New Imperial Hotel by the Jaffa Gate. It is really nice to stay in the Old City as it is walking distance from most of the places we want to visit.

New Imperial Hotel, Jerusalem, Old City, Jaffa GateI could have posted a picture of the hotel, but thought that this nice painting would be more interesting. The New Imperial was built in the 1880’s and has seen a lot of history in the Jaffa Gate area.

The hotel is definitely a bit eclectic with interesting room layouts, a lot of art in the common areas and just a cool ambiance. We also have to walk up a lot of stairs as there are no elevators.

New Imperial Hotel, Jerusalem, Old City, Jaffa GateThe view from the roof of the New Imperial is really nice. You can see most of the Old City and the mountains that surround the city. We spent some time on the roof each weekend and it was also where we had our Sunday Morning services.

Some nice memories as I write this tonight.

Now to get back to packing for my next trip…….

Quiet in the Old City

The Old City of Jerusalem is usually very full of people and very busy and noisy. However, sometimes it can be very quiet.

Jerusalem old city, quiet streets, Jerusalem, Night, closed shopsOne of the quietest times in the Old City is just after the shops close on Saturday night. There are not to many people out and about then.
