Allergy Season

This time of year is one of the worst for my allergies. It is the time when the air is filled with allergens from the many blossoms that are appearing on the treas.

It is a miserable time for allergies, but also a beautiful time of year in the Central Valley.

Almond Blossoms, Central Valley, Spring, OrchardsAs you look out over the orchards from I-5 it almost looks like it has snowed on the valley floor.

Almond Blossoms, Spring, California, OrchardsThe almond trees are the first to bloom and there are many almond orchards around.

Cherry Blossoms, Cherries, Orchard, trees, spring, blossomsThe cherry trees are also starting to blossom.

Cherry Blossoms - Central California - Honey Bee - Pollination - Spring Time - OrchardsBees are out in force pollinating the blossoms.

bee hives, almond orchards, california, central valleyAs you pass by the almond orchards you see stacks of hives at the end of the rows of trees.

Japanese Cherry Blossoms - Cherry trees blooming - White BlossomsIt is also when I think about the cherry blossoms in Japan. I have been to Tokyo and other areas of Japan during cherry blossom season a few times over the years.

It is a beautiful time of year, but I will be happy when it is over and my allergies calm down a bit. For now, I just keep taking my allergy medicine.

On My Table

Tonight is the start of another series.

In this series I will simply share what is on my table.

This is another one of those every so often series.

It may be something I am building with Ankerstein.

It may be different tables.

It may be a meal.

It may be just about anything that ends up on one of my tables.

Tonight in the first of the series it will be an Ankerstein building on my table.

Ankerstein NF26, Palace, blocks, stacking blocks

This Palace is built with Ankerstein Set NF-26.

The structure is built entirely of stones that are simply stacked on top of each other.

No snapping together and no glue.

Ankerstein NF26, Palace, blocks, stacking blocksThe Palace has a footprint of 20 x 12 inches and is about 28 inches tall.

Please don’t bump the table 🙂
