Wednesday Word Search – Lat

Welcome to another Wednesday Word Search where I pick a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

Awhile back I searched for ‘hat’ and ‘bat’ so started a theme of ‘?at’ words. Last week I searched for ‘kat’ so will continue on.

The word for tonight is: Lat

Kat should be interesting. The string ‘lat’ is in some interesting words.

What images will I find?

Flatland, Big Bang Theory, Abbot, Mustich 1000The first image is of the cover of Flatland by Edwin A. Abbot. This is an interesting book and is featured in an episode of The Big Bang Theory.

Luther Original Grave Plate, St. Michael, Jena, Germany, Martin LutherThis image is of the original grave plate for Martin Luther. It hangs on the wall of a church in Jena, Germany. There is an interesting story behind why it never made it to where he is buried.

Frothed Mexican Hot Chocolate - Restaurant El Cardenal - traditional Mexican Breakfast - Mexican Hot ChocolateWhy did this image show up? This is a cup of frothed hot chocolate that I had for breakfast in a restaurant in Mexico City.

Tiglath Pileser III - British Museum - Pul - First watch? For this image we find the string in the name of the king. This carving is in the British Museum and is of Tiglath Pileser III. Is he wearing a watch?

Flat Stanley, Seven Continents, Niece, School ProjectThe last image is from a Flat Stanley project I did with my niece. I carried this little paper doll around the world with me. I made a copy of it before I sent it back to her, and continue to carry the copy with me in my travels. I also carried Flat Stanley dolls of my Mother’s students around the world with me a couple times.

These images show that ‘lat’ is found in many different words. I had over 100 pictures to choose from.

Which is your favorite ‘lat’ picture?

What should I search for next? I will probably continue with the next ?at word. I took a quick look and I have a lot of images for ‘mat’ to choose from.

Fall Roses

On Saturday I visited the Community Rose Garden after stopping by the library to drop of some books.

I was surprised to finds some nice looking blooms on a few of the rose bushes.

roses, rose garden fall roses, flora and faunaI really liked the structure of this light red rose. No wilting of the edges of the petals and no heat damage. Roses like it when the temperature is no so hot.

These remind me that I need to do some work with my own rose bushes. They need to be cleaned up a bit so I can enjoy my fall roses better.
