Wednesday Image Search – EE – III

Welcome to another Wednesday Image Search where I pick a string of letters or a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

Recently I completed my search for double vowels, except for sometimes ‘y’. There are very few ‘yy’ words, so I am giving it a pass. Since I had so many images for some of the double vowels I did a second edition of two of them and will now do a third edition.

Tonight I am searching for ‘ee’ again.

These should be interesting. There are a lot of words with this double vowel.

What images will I find?

Valley Carpenter Bee, Xylocopa varipuncta, pollination, rose bushes, gold bee, snitchWith the first image we have a picture of a Valley Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa varipuncta). I took this picture in my own rose garden. This made me think of the golden snitch in the Harry Potter books.

Kraft Mac and CheeseThe second image is of Mac and Cheese. Sometimes I just have to make this comfort food. Usually along with some fish sticks.

Chicken Feet, Loose feet, Chinese grocery, feet on iceNext we have some chicken feet at a grocery store in Shanghai. Do you see these at your grocery store?

Luzon Bleeding-Heart PigeonHere we have a picture of a Luzon Bleeding-Heart Pigeon. I took this picture at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. This is one of my favorite birds.Ferris Wheel, Jena Germany, Christmas MarketFinally, we have a Ferris Wheel at a festival in Jena, Germany. I enjoy going to festivals there as they have lots of good things to eat and many hand made items to buy.

I had 687 ‘ee’ images to pick from, and again had to make some tough decisions on what to share. I may have to do another edition of this post.

Which is your favorite of these ‘ee’ pictures?

What should I search for next? I think I will continue the theme of double vowels with a third round of ‘oo’.

Snow on the Altamont

As I left my office this afternoon I walked to my car through light rain.

I knew that I would have a difficult commute home as it had been raining throughout the afternoon.

As I headed out to the highway I noticed that the raindrops on my windshield looked a little different. It brought back memories of rain turning to snow.

The traffic was heavy as I headed toward the Altamont. As I approched the base of the Altamont the rain turned into sleet.

Further along there was a place where I could look back at the Livermore Hills and the peaks were all covered with snow.

This is a rare event to have snow this low on the Altamont Pass. I have only seen it a couple times before.

I am sure that I will have a scenic drive tomorrow with the snow covered hills.
