Wednesday Image Search -Vot

Welcome to another Wednesday Image Search where I pick a string of letters or a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

Last week I continued the current sequence with ‘uot.’ This week I will search for ‘vot.’ There will be some gaps in this ‘*ot’ sequence, including ‘aot’, as not all combinations will find images.

What images will I find?

Kansas City Star, November 1988, Bush Election, ElectionsThe first image is from the front page of the Kansas City Star in November 1988. I was working as a volunteer at the Jackson County Republican headquarters helping get the vote out. I am sitting on top of a large stack of mail bags.

James Madison and the STruggle for the Bill of Rights, Richard Labunski, Pivotal Moments in American HistoryNext is a picture of the book James Madison and the Struggle for the Bill of Rights by Richard Labunski. The book is in the Pivotal Moments in American History series.

Votive Church - Ankerstein - Anchor Blocks - NF20 - Building BlocksHere is a Votive Church built with Ankerstein.

I Voted Sticker, Vote Sticker, Flag StickerNext is an I Voted sticker. I have a small collection of these on my bedroom mirror.

Old Voting Machine - Goldwater - Johnson - Presidential ElectionFinally we have an Old Voting Machine from Crawfordsville, Indiana.

There were only a few ‘vot’ images to choose from and most of them had to do with voting.  I hope you like the selections that I made.

Which is your favorite of these pictures?

What should I search for next? I will probably continue with the ‘*ot’ series as I have one more letter that has images.

Oak Island – Draining Water

The Curse of Oak Island season 11 continues with more investigation in the Garden Shaft , Swamp and Circular Structure areas. This week they started by climbing down in the Garden Shaft to look at the cavity that was found.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsThe causeway to the island continues to be busy with all the workers and the experts that look at the finds.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locations Tonight they talked about stopping the ingress of water into the Garden Shaft and how they will drain the water. They also started draining the swamp again since they have received the proper permit.

The archaeology team working around the circular stone structure found a small ring and also a thinner rectangular metal piece that is not large enough to be a fastener or tool. It will be interesting to see the analysis of the metal and the shape of the rod without the corrosion.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsThe team talked to an expert in the war room about the finding of an old map by surveyor Charles Morris. The map has Masonic ciphers that may tie William Phips and his colleague Johnathan Belcher to the Masons.

They talked for the first time in weeks about the Templars and their involvement with Oak Island, since they now have this connection to the Masons.

It was interesting as they talked about the map and symbols and talked about how some symbols looked exactly like others they have found that are just similar.

Curse of Oak Island, mystery, curse, oak island, Google Maps, Island locationsIn the Garden Shaft they started to pump foam material into the void that will then expand and hopefully stop the flow of water coming in. Oak island, map, curse of oak island, pier, new work

At the circular structure they outlined where a deeper structure would be based on the magnetometry survey. They were surprised by the size of the structure. Shortly after they discovered a piece of stone that had similar inscribed lines on both sides of it. To me it looks like a broken rim of a square or rectangular vessel, or perhaps an edge of a tablet.

While digging down along the edge of the swamp they found a piece of wood with Roman numerals on it. It will be interesting if they find more, as this would be an additional spot on the island where they have found Roman numerals.

In the same area they also found a length of chain with links that showed through the corrosion and also a separate hook that were brought up together. It will be interesting to see a scan of the chain as it has a possible larger object at the end of it.

In the preview for next week they showed excitement when finding objects in both the circular structure area and the edge of the swamp. They also showed a clip of them talking about the chain that was found.  The results of the sonar scans in Aladdin’s cave were shown. The scans look interesting.

Some interesting developments this week as they continue to hunt for the slippery treasure.
