Oak Island – Cross Lines Mark the Spot

Season 10 of The Curse of Oak Island continues to show new discoveries and theories.

This week on Oak Island they started by showing the re-opening of the Garden Shaft to start the rehabilitation. They also took some more water samples from the Blob area.

The continued metal detecting on Lot 5 and found an old button and perhaps a piece of a scythe? The piece of metal in no way looked like what they found last week.

Curse of Oak Island, History Channel, Did they find anything?Of course, one thing to remember is that the dig season is already over. They have taken the time to determine how to present things each week to build suspense and keep viewers tuned in.

oak Island, Money Pit, Mahone BayThey also started to drain the well on Lot 26 to see what they could find in the debris at the bottom. They started sifting through the muck and found an old iron nail.

The team had a meeting to see some information about Sacred Geometry and how Nolan’s Cross could pinpoint the location of the Money Pit. The lines drawn intersected just near the Garden Shaft. There must have been many variations of lines tested to see how they would fit and even so not all the lines were exactly straight.

It was also intriguing that they were using feet, without much explanation as to the exact number of inches per foot they were using. There is a long history of the evolution of the length of the foot, and sometimes the length of the foot can give an approximate date. Sacred Geometry was often used by the Templars so could they have been involved?

The bush scythes would probably be just a bit later based on the metal composition that testing showed.

Right at the end of the show they showed the hammer grab tool starting to remove mud from the Garden Shaft. The rehabilitation of the shaft is now well underway.

In the preview of the next episode they showed continued work on the Garden Shaft and possibly some of the team members going below ground. There was also some excitement in the finding of treasure. However, it was not clear what type of treasure they found. They also showed a map with some of the water testing results.

It looks like it will be interesting next week.

What will they find?

Lincoln’s Birthday 2023

Today was President Lincoln’s Birthday. For some people today was a holiday, but for most of us, we didn’t get a holiday for Lincoln’s Birthday.

Tracy Library, Flower Gardens, Rose Gardens, NatureOur local library was closed today for Lincoln’s Birthday and will be closed again next Monday for Washington’s Birthday.

ECHOJ Dublin, California, Alameda County Courts, East County Hall of JusticeMost State offices like the East County Hall of Justice were closed in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday.

However, there was mail delivery on both days.

A bit confusing, but Lincoln’s Birthday is one of those floating holidays where different State and local government agencies determine whether to observe it or not and on which day.

Lincoln Books, Sandburg series, biography, Lincoln's BirthdayI took the day off today, and took some time to look at some of my many books about President Lincoln. Someday I plan on reading through the complete Carl Sandburg series. There are six volumes that are divided between his Prairie Years and the War Years.

Abraham Lincoln, Books, Lincoln's Birthday, Reading ListHere is just a sampling of some of the Lincoln books that I have. I know that I have at least 40 books about Lincoln.

You can see that I also have another set of the Sandburg Prairie Years books. They are a different edition and I had them before I acquired the complete set above.

Rose Bloom, Red Rose, Fragant Rose, Mr. Lincoln RoseIt is too early for my Mister Lincoln roses bush to have blooms, but it has started to grow new foliage. It will not be long until I can watch for rose buds.

Presidents Washington and Lincoln - Presidents' Day - Marx Presidential FigurinesAs I sit here writing this on my computer I just glanced down  and looked at my Lincoln Marx Presidents figurine.

Washington and Lincoln have sat on top of my computer for quite some time, but I recently moved them to just below my screen as I have placed it on a stand. Most of the other Presidents in the Marx series are on a shelf in the living room. However, Jefferson has also joined Washington and Lincoln here on my desk.

How did you observe Lincoln’s Birthday?
