Next week I was supposed to teach a virtual course for Australia.
However, the corse has been delayed a week.
I received an e-mail early last week asking if an engineer that was just hired could attend without completing the required e-learning. While processing this and determining how to respond I received another e-mail.
They had been informed that next Thursday was going to be a holiday in honor of Queen Elizabeth. They asked how could we manage the course with the upcoming holiday. This made the decision about the new engineer a little easier. We would postpone the course a week to give the engineer more time and to also not have to work around the holiday.
Since I am not traveling to Australia I didn’t have to make flight or hotel changes. I also had some conflicts for next week come up, so it is all working out.
It would have been nice to go to Australia and conduct the course in person, but I have a good co-trainer to work with so it should be a good course. I will miss the beautiful flowers in front of the office.
I will also miss getting my Nando’s fix by conducting the virtual course. I always like eating at Nando’s when I visit Australia and other countries where they are more widespread. However, I can think about the food while I conduct the virtual course. Conducting a virtual course in a location that I have visited in person always brings back a lot of memories.
Now my memories will have to wait a week.
