I always have my eye out for wildlife when I am at the office.
Sometimes I see hawks roosting on the sign for our building, but last week I saw two of them roosting on the scaffolding of a building across the street.
They have a nice high perch there to keep an eye out for prey.
The hawks have a good hunting ground near our office as we have a lot of landscaping and also a preserved wetland area near the building.
There are some black-tailed jackrabbits (Lepus californicus) that live in the wetlands. Hopefully the hawks do not get all of them.
There are also some red tailed hawks in the area, but I have not seen any at the office yet. This was at our old office a couple blocks away.
I like walking up to the entrance of the building in the mornings as we often hear birds welcoming us to a new day of work with their songs.
