Lion Gate Thoughts

This afternoon I walked into a conference room to participate in a TEAMS call and was taken back to a trip that I took to Turkey in 2014.

Hattusa, Hattusha, Hittite Capital, Turkey, Archaeology, Lion GateMy first thought was how did a picture I took show up on the screen in the conference room? However, a closer look showed that it was not quite the same and was one of the standard pictures for the screen when it was not in use.

Lion Gate - Hattusha - Ancient Hittite Capital - Ruins of HattushaThe sky in the picture on the monitor had very different clouds and the picture was taken a from just a slightly different angle.

This is one of the grand entrances to the Hattusha, which was the Hittite Capital city in Central Turkey. This entrance is known as the Lion Gate. You can see the two large lions on each side of the entrance.

Sphinx Gate - Hattusha - Ancient Hittite Capital - Egyptian ContactOne of the other grand entrances is known as the Sphinx Gate. What a view from the gate.

Flock of Sheep, Turkey, Shepherds in the Field, Rod and Staff, Psalm 23Today I have had many memories about my trip to Turkey. Our group saw some beautiful landscapes while driving between the places we visited. I had a wonderful trip and made some lifetime friends along the way.
