Re-stringing the Trimmer

One of my least favorite yard work chores is re-stringing the trimmer.

string trimmer, electric, yard work, lawn,The trimmer always seems to run out of filament at the worst time. Like when you are trying to get things done before dark.

string trimmer, electric, yard work, lawn,I usually take the trimmer to the garage to re-string, but it was too hot in the garage on Saturday. I thought it would be better to do it out in the breeze.

string trimmer, electric, yard work, lawn,It is not too hard to wind the filament around the spool as there are notches to hold the ends.

string trimmer, electric, yard work, lawn,However, when I try to put the spool into the trimmer it often unwinds. It is tricky to get the filament through the holes in the side and then press the spool down. Especially with the trimmer leaning against a tree. It usually takes me several times to get it, but it took me a few more this time. I should have endured the heat of the garage instead of the frustration 🙂
