Tonight I will share some birthday cakes from years past.
We will start with one from long ago. Here I am with my first birthday cake. You can see that I am celebrating my Native American ancestry.
This birthday cake was made before my mom went to classes to learn how to decorate cakes. It is still a nice cake, and I know that I didn’t care what it looked like. I am sure that since I was just two I simply enjoyed stuffing my face with it
The cake is not too visible in this picture, but this is from my 4th birthday. You can see some of the gifts that I got for my birthday.
Didn’t I look cute in my overalls?
Fast forward now to when I turned seven. Here is my birthday cake for a party at what we called lagoon park or curly slide park. For more see: Fun at the Park
Here I have a cake that is an Indian tepee. My mom had a great idea to make this cake. The pan she used was usually for making a doll cake. The tepee shape is the dress and a doll head would be placed on top. It worked great to make the tepee.
Last year my Sister sent me the cake toppers from that long ago birthday cake. Of course the tepee was not used in the cake from when I was seven.
So, this year I decided to use them to top a small cake from the grocery store.
Not even close to being as good as my Mom’s cakes 🙂
