Tonight I will share a negative test report that my grandparents received about 70 years ago.
Most of us don’t remember that at one time we had to have evidence of a negative TB test. I remember having to have one back in the 80’s for a college application. Of course at the time I took the test the process was different than what my grandparents went through.
The first step in the process was to go get an x-ray exam.
They filled out a card that would be attached to their x-ray film when it was sent off to be read.
Then they had to wait for the results to be sent to them from the State Department of Health.
Do you recognize the emblem on the back of the envelope? There was a huge campaign to get people test for TB back at this time.
You may want to check out my post about Licking TB.
Here is the report on the X-ray, with instructions to keep the card.
Then they would repeat the process the next year.
I am thinking of this report tonight, as we are going through a similar process today.
There is nothing new under the sun.
