Tuesday is International Firefighters’ Day, so I thought I would share a few images of the Tracy Firefighter sculpture.
The firefighter is life size and stands 6’6″ tall. The statue was created by California sculptor Lawrence Noble. The sculptor paid a lot of attention to detail and this statue is very life like. You can just image this firefighter fighting a fire helping to save both lives and property.
I like to take pictures of the sculpture in different lighting, weather conditions and times of year.
Here is the Firefighter at night.
Here is one in the rain, which makes me think of how firefighters work in all weather conditions.
The helmet and other protective gear that the firefighter uses reminds me that those that protect us also need protection.
This is also the time of year to start praying for their safety as wildfire season is beginning.
I will end with a quote:
“The role of a firefighter in today’s society – be it urban, rural, natural environment, volunteer, career, industrial, defense force, aviation, motor sport, or other is one of dedication, commitment and sacrifice – no matter what country we reside and work in. In the fire service we fight together against one common enemy – fire – no matter what country we come from, what uniform we wear or what language we speak.”
