It is winter time and that means it is time to think about pruning my roses.
However, it is hard to think about pruning when I still have roses on the bushes.
Not just roses, but also rose buds.
There is even new growth in some areas.
How can you bear to prune when they are so alive.
Some of the rose bushes do not look like they will put out more buds, but I usually wait and prune everything at the same time. There are actually two rose bushes here. One is behind the other. They have been slowly going down hill and perhaps they are near the end of their life.
I did check and I usually do my pruning in late January.
February and March will be bleak months without any roses and then they will be appearing again. I guess I should just be thankful that I have roses for almost ten months of the year.
When do you prune your roses?
