Since I have been sheltering in place at home among my books. I decided to tell a story using book covers.

I had a few rules for this story.

First, the cover must come from my Penguin Popular Classics collection.

Second, the title can be a little bit of a stretch, but not too much.

Third, it must be a book that I have read.

So here is my Covid-19 Cover Story.

In Middlemarch

The Professor

in response to the Hard Times

followed the decrees of The Warden

to shelter in place in my Bleak House

Far from the Madding Crowd.

At times I have felt like Robinson Crusoe,

but now there are Great Expectations

that Sense and Sensibility will prevail,

and that people will be like The Man in the Iron Mask and wear masks when appropriate.

Then we can have The Return of the Native to the office

and work among the Dubliners once again instead of working from home.

The Professor

A couple quick notes:

The Professor – I am an adult educator and am known by some as the Professor

The Warden – Federal, State and Local government

Dubliners – The office I work at is in Dublin, California
