Over the last few days my Agapanthus blooms have slowly been opening.
A couple weeks ago the first scapes started appearing.
Here we have more scapes that have almost reached their maximum height.
Here the sun is illuminating the bracts of the scape and you can see the a hint of the flowers inside.
Here a couple of the bract sets have opened up. The two leaves that make up the pod containing the flowers are called bracts. I took this picture yesterday.
I decided to go with a closeup for the latest picture. You can see some of the flowers starting to open and show their blue/purple color. I also caught a ladybug crawling through the flowers.
I am looking forward to what they look like tomorrow.
