Today has been a very long day as I started the day in Sydney and continued it in San Francisco.
After a good breakfast I left my serviced apartment at the Meriton a little before 7:00 this morning and headed to the train station. I then took me about an hour to get to the airport on the train.
It did not take me too long to get through check-in, security and customs and I was soon on my way to the Air New Zealand lounge. I enjoyed a little bit of second breakfast while there.
I then headed to the gate for the long flight home. We ended up sitting at the gate for quite some time due to some load balancing that had to be done. I watched almost an entire one hour TV documentary on cathedrals in London while we waited.
We finally took off sometime after 11:00 am.
After a bumpy start to the flight we were served a nice dinner. I watched a couple movies and then it was time to get some sleep on the 13 hour flight.
Just before landing I enjoyed my third breakfast of the day. We landed a little bit late, so we did not arrive before I left my apartment, but it was close.
I resisted the temptation to stop at Chick-fil-A for a fourth breakfast and instead went to the office to take care of a few things before heading the rest of the way home.
I made it all the way home at about the same time that we took off from Sydney. Crossing the International Date Line on the flight made for a very long (41 hours) and interesting Friday.
