On Sunday I noticed some nice sunflowers growing in front of where we meet for worship.
I decided that after I had given my lesson that I would take some pictures before I headed for home.
My friend Melody told me that I must post some of the pictures that I took, so here they are.
Look at the beautiful sunflowers reaching toward the sky. These are a nice size for sunflowers.
Whenever I see sunflowers I think of Kansas. After all, Kansas is the Sunflower State.
I had been seeing sunflowers alongside a field of hay during my commute to work and had been itching to stop and take pictures. Finally I found some accessible sunflowers to take pictures of.
Now to zoom in a bit and see the beauty of the sun shining through the petals.
They are so beautiful. I will have to keep an eye on these and see if I can get a picture of one that has visible kernels.
I know that the flowers are being pollinated. There were bees buzzing around and I was able to get a few pictures of bees pollinating. This is the best of the bee pictures.
The little honey bee has a lot of jobs to do throughout the year. I think of the many things that we eat that rely on the honey bee for pollination. This is just one example.
Now I am hungry for some sunflower seeds. Luckily I have some in my kitchen π
