My courses are complete and now it is time to wander home.
After class today I traveled from Sheffield to Heathrow for my flight tomorrow.
On the walk from the hotel to the train station I passed this beautiful old building. I like the mix of the brick and stone. The look is a bit deceptive in regards to the weather. It looks like a nice warm day, but instead it was a cold blustery day. Luckily the wind was behind me and almost pushed me on my way.
Clifford the Big Red suitcase was soon in the luggage rack of the train and we headed off toward London and Heathrow Airport.
On the way to London I had to use the facilities and found this humorous sign.
Don’t Flush Nappies, sanitary towels, paper towels, gum, old phones, unpaid bills, junk mail, your ex’s sweater, hopes, dreams or goldfish Down this toilet.
I made sure that I didn’t flush my hopes and dreams down the toilet.
I arrived in London at St. Pancras station and then had to take the Underground to Paddington Station to catch the Heathrow Express.
St. Pancras train station is just by King’s Cross and they share an Underground station. Of course, most of us know what train leaves from Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross.
I finally made it to my hotel by Heathrow Airport. Now for a good night of sleep before a long flight home tomorrow.
Steven
I have traveled frequently in England, staying down the street from Kings Cross tube station and using the trains. Your photos bring back such sweet memories. Thanks so much and have a safe trip home.
