The Gilmore Girls Book List has been showing up in my feed on Facebook lately. The list contains books that were referenced or shown during the 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls.
Since Gilmore Girls is returning to TV, it is no wonder that the list is being talked about.
Since Rory read a lot you would expect a long list, and it contains 339 titles.
Of course, I was curious and had to see how many of the books I had read.
Mr. Hill’s Novel List is one list of books that I have completed.
I have also read all the Pulitzer Prize winners and some of them were also on the list.
I put the list of books into a spreadsheet and marked off all of the books that I have read. I found that I had only read 140 of the books which is only about 40%. In the picture above it shows 145, but I have read 5 more of the books since I put together the spreadsheet.
I had seen this book on the shelf at the library while browsing through the Biography section and had almost picked it up several times. Since it was on the Gilmore Girls list I decided it was finally time to read it. Check √ for Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain.
I really enjoyed reading this book as it was a nice mix of known facts and a bit of speculation. A nice piece of Historical Fiction.
The one thing that I like about this list is that it is a good mixture of genres. However, it is a bit tilted toward the feminine side, which is understandable.
I have my eye on a half dozen other books on the list so will most likely be over 150 by the end of the year.
I am sure that someone will be keeping track of the books in the new show, so I am sure that the list will be amended soon.
