Potluck

Sunday afternoon we had a potluck and of course I had to take a few pictures.

Since I was just returning from a trip I had no idea that the potluck was going to take place so was spared the agony of what to bring. I did stop on the way and pick up a few bags of chips.

Of course, potlucks mean a lot of favorite foods for different people. Especially when you have a church family that have known each other for many years. People look forward to certain dishes that they know that others will bring.

Salads, pasta, potluck, Sunday Potluck, Favorite foodsHere are some of the salads and pasta dishes that were brought. The pasta dish that is front and center was really good. It was cheesy and had a nice spicy kick.

Fried Chicken, Homeade Chicken, Potluck, Sunday PotluckThere were three different types of fried chicken. Of course, I had to try them all.

Casserole, Cheesy Topping, Chicken, PotluckAnother staple of potlucks are casseroles that are topped with melted cheese. There were several casseroles and I tried to take at least a little of each of them.

Plate of Food, Potluck, Favorite Foods, Sunday PotluckHere is my plate of food. A lot of good food on this plate. I enjoyed it all. Especially the three types of chicken. I did limit myself to one plate and didn’t go back for seconds. I want to keep the weight off that I lost during my last trip.

Dessert, Cupcake, Watermelon, strawberries, Red White and BlueI did however have some dessert. Some healthy watermelon and strawberries along with a not as healthy cupcake.

You can see that it is a very patriotic plate of dessert with the Red, White and Blue!

Dessert, Cupcakes, Firecrackers, marshmallows. Here is a bonus picture with more of the cupcakes. They were available in both white and chocolate. They were both very cute and very delicious.

Today I had to go back to work and it was a long day. It is amazing how much work piles up for you when you are on vacation for two weeks.

If only the jet lag was over.
