To Basingstoke

After many hours of travel I made it to Basingstoke.

Basingstoke is about 50 miles southwest of Heathrow in Hampshire.

Heathrow, Terminal 2, The Queen's TerminalAfter a 10 hour flight and working my way through immigration and customs I made it to the exit of The Queen’s Terminal at Heathrow.

I then went in search of the cab stand. After following several signs and going up and down an elevator I finally found it.

Taxi from airport, Suitcase, Black CabI was soon in a cab and headed toward Basingstoke. Here you can see Clifford the Big Red Suitcase and my laptop bag. I really like the setup of the London taxi cabs as your luggage goes right inside with you.

Audleys Wood Hotel, Basingstoke, 1880's, Handpicked HotelsI am staying at the Audleys Wood hotel. The hotel is in an old mansion that was built in the 1880’s. I am in the wing that was added on in the 1980’s when it became a hotel. The hotel has a lot of history and I will share some of it in the future.

When I arrived it was almost dark as it has been a cloudy and rainy day. I will try and get a better picture later this week.

It is definitely a beautiful place to stay.

Now off to sleep, but not too early. I need to get on schedule.
