On the last night of my trip to Shanghai we made a trip into the center of the city.
One of our activities was to take a walk along the Bund and take in the fabulous Pudong skyline. This skyline is one of the most impressive in the world with the 2nd, 7th and 17th tallest skyscrapers in the world. More about this skyline in a future post.
As we climbed down the stairs to street level my eye was caught by this sign.
I definitely recognized the Magnum logo. I decided that it was time for dessert. I had been craving Ice Cream for several days, and this was the perfect opportunity.
I was looking forward to having a nice selection of Magnum Bars to choose from. Perhaps they would have some interesting flavors to choose from. Maybe Red Bean or Green Tea?
Alas, I was disappointed. This was the selection. Magnum Classic was the only variety that they had. I was all hyped up with the big logo on the front of the shop.
I later found that there are only three flavors in China. Vanilla (Classic), Cappuccino, and Crunchy.
Here is the Magnum Bar as I got ready to enjoy it. Don’t ask me what it says on the package as I only recognize a few of the characters.
This was definitely a Magnum Classic ice cream bar. The chocolate had the nice rich Belgian Chocolate taste, but the ice cream was a bit different. It was not as creamy as what we have in the US or what I have had in Turkey or Israel.
Hmm, now I am hungry for a Magnum Bar. Good thing that I have some Magnum Minis in my freezer.
What is your favorite Magnum flavor?
Steven

Yes, Magnum bars are a solid choice in China for ice cream. Too many times have I went for ice cream only to be disappointing, but never with the Magnum.
