I have been thinking of Toronto today as I finalized my flights for a trip there later this year.
I started to think of things I would like to do while I was there.
Of course, some of the things are food related like having dinner at Wonderpho.
However, my thoughts kept coming back to the Toronto Zoo.
I may try to go to the zoo again while I am there. I have one specific reason that I will share at the end of the post.
Follow the links throughout the post for more Zoo Pictures.
I would like to see the butterflies of the Malayan Wood Pavilion again. I took some nice pictures when I was there before, including a Butterfly Picture Surprise.
I also have memories of walking through the Canadian Domain exhibit and seeing a Bald Eagle in a cage. This also makes me think of A Grizzly Post that I wrote.
During a walk around the pond in the Canadian Domain I took a nice picture of a red-winged blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus). I always see red-winged blackbirds, but I rarely am able to get a picture of them.

I also like the bigger animals like this elk or wapiti (Cervus canadensis). Of course I like the hippopotamus and rhinoceros too.
One big reason why I would like to visit the Toronto Zoo, is to see the Giant Panda. There are very few zoos outside of China that have Giant Pandas.
I have a little bit better camera than I did during my last trip, so it would be nice to get some new pictures.
What is your favorite animal at the zoo?
Steven
The lions! It’s amazing how loud they can roar 🙂
