Lunch in the Blue Mountains

I am thinking of Australia tonight which made me think of my trip to the Blue Mountains.

First, one of my students from Australia is here for a class with another instructor. Second, I looked at the calendar and there was a flurry of holidays listed on my calendar for Australia.

It is Commonwealth Day and Australia is part of the Commonwealth.

Canberra Day was today as well as Eight Hours Day in Tasmania, Labour Day in Victoria and Adelaide Cup Day in South Australia.

All this made my mind wander toward my trip to the Blue Mountains and pictures from my lunch caught my eye as I searched through my archives.

Papadino's Pizzeria - Katoomba, NSW, Australia - Blue Mountains - PizzaI arrived in Katoomba just after noon, and I started looking for a place to have lunch. This sign caught my eye as I walked down the main street through town.

I placed my order and pulled out my book and read while waiting for my lunch.

This picture is for my brother who typically takes pictures of the condiment sets in restaurants that he goes too. Pretty basic here, just salt and pepper along with the plates and silverware.

Pepperoni - Solo Soft Drink - Papadino's Pizzeria - Katoomba, NSW, Australia - Blue Mountains - PizzaI had a nice Pepperoni Pizza along with a nice can of Solo.

The pizza was really good. A nice crisp crust with a delicious topping. I also enjoyed the nice tang of Solo. This is one soda that I wish we had in the US. We don’t have a good lemon soda here.

After lunch it was off to see Katoomba Falls, the Seven Sisters and to watch for birds like the Pied Currawong.

I really enjoyed my afternoon in the Blue Mountains. The nice lunch was a good start way to start it off.

What is your favorite type of pizza?

Steven
