Today for lunch we went to Apricot Wood BBQ in Patterson, California.
Many of us were tired from the lost hour of sleep, but we had a good time together enjoying the wonderful food.
I have eaten at Apricot Wood BBQ several times now, and would recommend it to anyone who is in need of a break from the long journey through the Central Valley on I-5. The restaurant is just off I-5 at the Patterson exit and is open for Lunch and Dinner every day except Monday.
For lunch today I had the 12 Hour Pork Shoulder with Sweet Potato Fries. The dish also comes with a piece of grilled cornbread that has a nice crunch.
As usual the food was really good. I also enjoyed trying their homemade BBQ sauces. My favorite is the California Gold Sauce, but the Apricot Chipolte is also really good.
After lunch I stopped at the Stewart & Jasper Orchards Company Store. I wanted to pick up a new bottle of Apricot Pepper Sauce. I used the sauce for a New Years party dish. You can see how I used it in my post: Finger Foods
I also used some of the sauce to make Apricot Pepper Bacon.
While there I discovered that they have released a new sauce. I am already thinking of how to use the bottle of Cherry Pepper Sauce that I bought today.
Then it was time to go to my friends to take a nap to catch up sleep lost due to the Time Change.
I just had to take a picture of the beautiful daisies in the flower bed in front of their house.
They also had some beautiful Iris in bloom. I really like Iris and they bring back so many memories of the huge Iris beds that we had when we moved to Kansas. They also make me think of my sister who included them in several art projects during high school.
Now to try and get to bed. I sometimes think that the one hour time change is worse than jet-lag π
