Around the Office

This evening the jet lag is catching up with me, so here is a quick post while I watch the Big Smash Cricket match.

I am glad that there are a few Cricket matches this week before the Olympics start.

My post yesterday was Around the Hotel, I decided to stick with the idea and here is Around the Office.

Tall Trees in Australia - Trees around office - Trees around Parking Lot - Trees in AustraliaHere is a shot of some nice tall trees in the parking lot at the office. I took this picture on Monday after class.

Red Flowers in Australia - Office environment - Australia Flowers - Walk to WorkI have about a 10 minute walk to the office from the hotel. A nice bit of exercise.

As I turned down the path around the office I spotted these nice red flowers. Perhaps later I will get some close-up shots of the blooms.

Path around office - Australia Office - Morning Path in ShadowThere is a nice walking path around the building. In the morning the path is in the shade, but you look out on some beautiful trees lit up by the sun.

I wonder what is around the corner?

Giant Eucalyptus Tree - Tree in Australia - Eucalyptus TreeA beautiful sight as I round the corner and see this giant Eucalyptus tree. The tree looks so majestic.

This tree makes me think of another majestic Eucalyptus tree. You can see a picture of it in my post Historic Reflection.

Eucalyptus Tree - Trees in Australia - White Tree TrunkI really like the contrast of the white trunk and the green leaves of a Eucalyptus. The trunk of the tree and the major branches have such a stark and smooth look. They really stand out.

After work today it was off to dinner to celebrate the birthday of one of my students. But first, a walk home in a light rain. I must remember my rain jacket tomorrow 🙂

Love the pictures! Thanks for posting!

  2. There’s no mistaking Sydney. It has a certain light to it, and the vegetation is a dead giveaway! I hope you’re enjoying your time in Australia and am looking forward to reading more about your experience of it.

The jet lag didn’t hurt your photography any.
