Today was a day to change my profile picture on Facebook. For the past week I have been using a picture of myself in a Santa hat, and decided that it was time to change to another picture š
So, since it is winter time I decided to switch to another cold weather picture. However, the picture was actually taken in summertime where it was taken.
This picture was taken in Paradise Bay, Antarctica several years ago by one of the friends that we made on the trip. You may recognize it since is the profile picture that I also use with wordpress. It is one of my favorites of me.
Here is a better view. It actually was not too cold. We were there in February, which is summer in the southern hemisphere. My sister was with me and it was colder back home in Nebraska where she lives.
I also decided it was time to change my cover photo on Facebook.
The golden leaves are gone and it is time for a winter scene.
Here we have the snow covered mountains above Ushuaia, Argentina. This was the first port that we stopped at after visiting Antarctica.
This is only part of the full picture. I used the complete picture in a post I wrote last year: Reflections
In the full picture there is a beautiful harbor scene. What you see above is only the top third of the picture.
One of the challenges of selecting a cover photo for Facebook is how to position it. Because of the shape, it is sometimes hard to use your favorite pictures as cover photos. This one turned out alright, but pales in comparison to the full picture.
How often do you change your profile picture?
Steven

I’m probably at the far end of the continuum, but I don’t think that I’ve ever changed my profile picture. I’m not very active on Facebook (actually I’m almost inactive); but I probably should think about changing it sometime.
I change up my profile picture and cover photo quite a bit. I don’t always use a photo of me for the profile pic, anything goes.
I’m digging the new one you chose. It’s very festive with the giant pom-pom on the hat, you could add funky glasses or a clown nose to make it even more festive, but I’m no expert š
