This weekend I went to a beautiful wedding at a farm.
My cousin’s wedding was held at The Gardens at Peacock Farms in Arroyo Grande.
I was hunting for the peacocks, but found out that the name Peacock comes from a family name and that they didn’t raise peacocks 🙂 If you want to see pictures of peacocks visit my post from yesterday: A Busy Weekend
I did find was a really cool old flatbed farm truck with a couple of wine casks on the bed. The truck was sitting in front of a small vineyard. The grapes were ripening and off course I have a few pictures of them. However, I had to decide what pictures to share as I am already going to post more than double my usual number.
You also need a tractor at a farm. Here is an old Farmall tractor by a beautiful Koi pond. I really like the look of this old red tractor and can imagine it being used on a small farm. It also brings back memories of the big tractors that I used to operate.
Oh, this is supposed to be about a wedding, so on to the gardens where the wedding took place. Here is the table where we sat at the reception. All of the centerpieces were marked with a sign from one of the running events that my cousin and her fiancée had competed in together. We had to go look at a seating board to find out which table we were assigned to. I was assigned to the Nitro Turkey 2011 table along with some of my cousins from Iowa. But where are the chairs?
Here is where the ceremony took place. The chairs are all lined up for the start of the ceremony. After taking dozens of pictures of the grounds, some of which you may see in future posts, I took my seat to wait for the ceremony.
Here is my Mom’s cousin walking his beautiful daughter down the aisle. Her dress was really beautiful and she had a radiant smile as she walked toward the groom.
After a short but beautiful ceremony it was time for the reception and a nice dinner. I had a lot of fun catching up with family that I hadn’t seen for many years.
Now for some sleep before another busy week.
Steven
p.s. You may enjoy two other posts about weddings I have attended:

What a perfect day for an outdoor wedding. It’s dicey planning that here. Alberta weather changes by the hour some days. A couple of days ago we had a giant thunder and hail storm in the middle of a nice day and then the sun came out again in the evening. I like the burlap table covers. Very ‘Country-fied’
Different, but really nice!! Really like the photos …
