Flower Centers II

Time for another flower centers post. See Flower Centers I for an introduction to the series and also a few pictures of lily centers.

It has been a busy day at work after a short vacation and also another Wednesday when I get home late. It was a busy day, but a good one. Especially as I saw a friend who I have not seen for a long time.

This flower centers post will feature flowers from my sister’s house.

Flower Centers - Iris - Center of Iris - Flowers - Foilage

I will start with the flowers that I know the names of.  🙂 This is the very center of an iris. There was one bloom left in my sister’s iris beds and it was a beauty, you may see a full picture of it in the future. But, since this post is focusing on flower centers, you get this picture. I really love the color and detail of the center of an iris. Especially the touches of brown. They almost look like freckles. 🙂

Pyrostegia venusta - Orange Trumpet - Flame Vine - Flower Center

Here we have the center of a Pyrostegia venusta bloom. This flower is also known as orange trumpet or flame vine. The bloom is small and delicate and brings back many memories. These flowers grew on the front of our neighbor’s garage when I was growing up. They make me think of Miss Kelly.

Now on to the flowers that I can’t readily identify. There are so many purple flowers.

Purple Flower - Flower Center - Yellow Center - Pollen

I really like this purple flower. I decided not to crop down to just the center of this flower as I wanted to show the pollen dusted petals. I am sure that the pollen from this flower contributed to the allergies that I had. 🙂

Purple Flower Center - Flower Centers - flowers - vine bloom

I really like the center of this flower. It is so elaborate, but I am sure that a little bee would have no trouble navigating to the right spot to take care of pollination duties. These were beautiful blooms that were growing on a vine.

Perhaps my sister knows the names of the two purple flowers, or maybe one of my readers will know and comment. To me, they are all beautiful flowers no matter what they are named.

I hope you enjoyed this second post on flower centers.

Glenda, I will most likely not be able to post during the next week. I am in an area of the world where WordPress access is blocked. Don’t worry :-).
