Tonight is mostly just a picture post. I am tired out from a long week in the classroom and having to get up early to beat the traffic each day.
My mind wandered to flowers tonight and then to iris. I will not try and classify the individual iris I post tonight as there are almost 300 species of iris.
The first is a beautiful yellow iris. My mother will like this one as yellow is her favorite color.
This picture was taken near Patterson, California a couple weeks ago. I really like the yellow of this bloom against the green background.
This close-up of a white iris was taken at the Dublin Heritage Center a couple of years ago. You can see some other flower pictures from the heritage center in my post Heritage Flowers or Heritage Lilies.
This picture was also taken near Patterson a couple weeks ago. I really like the lighting in this picture. The light parts of the bloom are highlighted by the sun and the darker parts are in shadow. The contrast is heightened and makes for a nice picture.
Finally I have a picture of two iris that I used in a post a couple weeks ago.
I really like the contrast in color with these iris. They are so beautiful.
You can see more about the environment these iris are in by looking at two earlier posts: Golden Hills and Rest Area Nature Call
I hope you enjoyed this quick look at a few beautiful iris.
