After two straight days of posting pictures of Ferris wheels, I can’t quite get them out of my mind.
I started to think about a series of pictures that I posted several years ago on Facebook that were on the theme; Things that Go Around and Around.
All of the pictures were of clocks and Ferris wheels.
I then remembered that this picture was posted along with the pictures of the Singapore Flyer and the London Eye.
This Ferris Wheel is in Jena, Germany. I took this during their Altstadtfest in 2005. The Altstadtfest is a festival that celebrates the older part of Jena. Festivals in Germany can be great fun, especially sampling the great festival food. No fried twinkies here, just great German specialties. Of course there are sweets, just not the weird stuff that we have at carnivals :-).
For instance, here is a stand that is selling Crepes, Waffeln and Eintopf. Of course you all know what crepes are and you can probably figure out that Waffeln is waffles. Eintopf is a German stew that is a common festival food.
OK, now I am hungry and must have a snack before it gets too late.
I am also thinking about whether I have any other Ferris wheel pictures that I need to post. I just might :-). I also have a few pictures of the church building that is behind the Ferris wheel in Jena. There will be a post about it someday also.
