A little fun at the end of the week as I look forward to my weekend wanderings.
One of the nice things to see when traveling is Coke bottles. Well in this case the Light variety. In most places outside of the US you do not ask for a Diet Coke, you ask for a Coke Light.
OK, back to the bottle. Mexico is one of the countries that still recycles their pop bottles. You see them mostly in restaurants. I like the way that you can tell the age of a bottle by the wear marks on the side of the bottles. A bit of nostalgia and memories of collecting pop bottles when I was a kid. It was fun to take them back and get the deposit. In some countries I have seen some very worn bottles. But, they can still be sent through the bottle washer and used again.
Earlier this week I saw this interesting custom VW Bug. I really like the conversion of this into a mini panel truck. It has so much utility as a delivery or work vehicle. I also like the nice Blue of the car. There are a lot less classic Bugs on the roads than when I was here eight years ago, but there are still a lot of them.
Here is another view that brought a smile to my face earlier this week.
This was just one of a row of windows on the second floor of a colorful building. I like the use of the accent color in the window case and the pots of flowers. I am not sure I would want to be on the sidewalk below them when they are watered. Of course, if you look closely they are not real flowers. They are filled with artificial flowers. Maybe they use real flowers in the summer.
Finally, here is an interesting sign I saw in a Coyoacan park.
I like the interesting illustrated instructions for cleaning up after your dog. Including a way to reuse a plastic bottle and plastic bags. Of course the drawing of the dog that had just taken care of business is priceless :-).
Tomorrow we are touring the historic center of Mexico City. I hope to get a few nice pictures. I am making sure my camera batteries are charged.
Have a great weekend.
Steven

Cool car, love those old beetles. We don’t see them around much here anymore. Probably rust buckets now from all the salt they put on our winter roads.
Nothing better than bottled Coca Cola from Mexico with real sugar in it. You might want to read where this drink started: http://marygilmartin.wordpress.com/2012/12/29/life-in-georgia-the-world-of-coca-cola/
Priceless pictures!!! Thanks!!
