Yellow Image Search

I was having trouble coming up with a blog post tonight so I decided to just pick a color and search my blog images to see what I come up with.

I am going to click on Add Media and then type yellow in the search field.

What ‘Yellow’ images will I find?

They may not end up being yellow in color.

Dusky Yellow Rose, St. Patrick Rose, Rose at Dusk, Yellow RosesIt was not a surprise that a lot of pictures of roses came up in the search. I have posted many times about my yellow roses.

Bee, Yellow Flowers, Flora and Fauna, Toronto, Rowntree Mills ParkI also found pictures of bees on yellow flowers. This is just one of several of these type of pictures. There were also pictures of other insects on yellow flowers.

Yellow Tea, Herbal Tea, South AfricaHere is some tea that has a bit of a yellow color to it.

Yellow Tree, Yellow Leaves, Trees at the Zoo, Ueno Zoo, Tokyo, JapanThere were also images of trees with yellow leaves. Some of them were a bit more orange, but had the yellow tag.

Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) in Punta del Esta, UraguayI looked through all the yellow pictures to try and find one without yellow. The closest I came was this picture, but if you look closely the feet of the snowy Egret are yellow.

Yellow Cake, Yellow Food coloring, Colorful cakeThis was an interesting picture. It is of cake batter that is mixed with yellow food coloring. This picture was used in a post titled The Birthday Cake.

I hope you enjoyed these ‘Yellow’ images.

I did this exercise twice before. You may also like Blue Image Search and Red Image Search.

What color should I search for next when I can’t think of a topic for a blog post?

A Foggy Sunday

Today was a very foggy day in the Central Valley. On the way to services in Patterson I took the interstate and at times the visibility was less then 100 meters. There were also stretches of nice sunny clear weather, but those foggy stretches can be dangerous. Especially when people are driving 80++. This is dangerous enough in clear weather.

Foggy Valley, Central Valley, Trees in FogOn the way back home I took the slower route. It was still very foggy, and on this route there were not any breaks in the fog.

Above you can see how foggy it was. You cannot even see the farm house at the end of this lane.

Winter Trees, foggy, winter, Central ValleyHere is a shot almost straight down the lane. You can see the trees silhouetted against the foggy background.

Foggy Drive, Central Valley, California, Foggy DayThis picture gives you a feel for the drive. You can not see too far ahead into the fog.

Roses, Time to Prune, January RosesWhen I got home I was looking at my rose garden trying to decided whether to start pruning. However, there are still too many roses that are still blooming and it just wasn’t in me to start cutting them back.

While taking pictures my neighbor and I were talking and he invited me over for a meal later in the afternoon.

Dinner, Mexican Dinner, Carne Asada, Beans, Rice, ChickenIt was a very nice meal of pollo asado, carne asada, and some rice and beans.

The meal was very nice and I enjoyed getting to know my neighbor’s family and friends. Most of the conversations going on around me were in Spanish, but I also had some good conversations in English.

I guess I really shouldn’t complain about the fog when my family back in Iowa and Missouri are snowed in 🙂
