The construction site near our office dried out a bit over the long holiday weekend and some more work got done on the parking lot today.
Last week the curb machine was laying down long stretches of the curb around the parking lot.
Last week before the rain this corner was unfinished, but had some forms up. Today you can see that it is fresh concrete. I am sure that I will someday park in this corner of the parking lot. I will have to remember to take a picture 🙂
Here you can see more of the curbs in the parking lot. I assume that these will be used for landscaping. I can picture rows of trees across the parking lot. In the distance you can see some of the storm drain material.
You can also see four big hoppers that are for the continued lime work that is being done to prep the ground for the foundation of the building.
Here is the ground work that is being done where the building will be. The lime is being worked into the ground to stabilize it before they start driving the piles.
The retention basin is full of water after the rains. This will be a permanent feature at the site and I am sure that we will see it full of water in the rainy seasons. I am sure that there will be some good opportunities for some reflection pictures of the new building, especially when you see the reflection now from a building that is a block away.
Perhaps more rain tomorrow, but not much. Construction may be affected a little, but they can continue the ground prep as long as it is not raining too hard.
