Mostly a picture post tonight, but one that shows a sequence of new growth on one of my rose bushes.
It is always sad to prune my roses, but I know that soon they will start their return.

Today I have been thinking of Japan since I received an e-mail from a Japanese colleague.
So, I will share some of my favorite images of Japan tonight.

This is the Golden Pavilion or Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto, Japan. It was a beautiful snowy day when I visited Kyoto.

There are a lot of food pictures that I could share from Japan, but I thought I would share a picture of one of my favorite dishes. This is tonkatsu which is a deep fried pork cutlet. It is actually what is on the menu at our cafeteria tomorrow and another reason why I have been thinking of Japan. I guarantee that my lunch will not look like this tomorrow 🙂
