Some Recent Hits

Tonight I decided to look at some of the posts I have written that have been getting a lot of hits recently.

Gettsyburg Address, Abraham Lincoln - 150th Anniversary - Gettysburg - Fourscore and seven years agoA post that I wrote about The Gettysburg Address more than five years ago has had a lot of recent hits. It is one of my most popular posts of all time, but it usually gets activity like it has now in November near the anniversary of the address.

Chick-fil-A Coming Soon, Pleasanton, California, Chick-fil-A, New locationAnother post with a lot of activity is one that I wrote about a possible Chick-fil-A in Manteca. I wrote the post almost 18 months ago, and at that time the project was close to getting approved. The approval did came shortly thereafter, but nothing further has happened at the proposed site. I am still watching for more news.

See: Manteca Chick-fil-A?

Knee of a dromedary camelCamel Knees is another post that gets steady traffic. In the past month it is close to the top in number of hits. I do know that one reason that it gets a lot of traffic is that I have licensed one of the pictures to an education website and some of the other pictures are often used, with or without attribution, on other websites.

Tell es-Sultan - Walls of Jericho - Joshua - Walls Come Tumbling Down - Rahab - HarlotWalls of Jericho usually gets a lot of hits on Saturday nights. Probably from Sunday school teachers or preachers looking for a picture to illustrate their lessons or sermons.

Cracker Barrel Map, California Cracker BarrelsBack to restaurants, a post that I wrote about a possible Camarillo California Cracker Barrel last April has been getting a lot of hits this past month.

The reason?

They broke ground just a couple weeks ago and it should be open by the end of the year. It is back in the news.

They also broke ground on the Rocklin Cracker Barrel last month, but the post I wrote about it has not been getting very many hits.

Carl Zeiss Gravestone - September 11, 1816 - December 3, 1888 - Friedenskirche Jena, GermanyI also plan on visiting the grave of Carl Zeiss when I am there. This is a tradition for me whenever I visit Jena, as Zeiss started the company I work for back in 1846.
