Around the Training Centre

This week and next I am holding courses at the Kingbridge Centre north of Toronto.

This is a great setup for training. They have a three story building with training rooms, a hotel wing and a great kitchen and dining area.

It sometimes makes it a bit hard to concentrate on the course.

Near my training room is this quote by Wilbur Wright. He said that “Men won’t fly for a thousand years.” After a disheartening try in 1901 to fly, Wilbur made this statement to Orville on their train ride back home to Dayton.

However, the Wright brothers did not give up, and instead only two years later they made their first flight.

After dinner this evening I again took a hike on the trails around the centre. There are about 3-4 miles of trails through the woods and meadows.

I ran across this little scene during the hike tonight. Tucked away on a little side path was a tree swing.

I thought about stopping and swinging for awhile, but the sky was darkening from storm clouds and the setting sun. The mosquitoes were also coming out in force.

As I got back to the centre the sun was setting and the lights had come on in the hotel wing.

I like the way the lights are reflected in the pond and also the water spray of the fountain. It was a beautiful sight. I would have liked to have sat and watched for awhile, but the humidity was rapidly increasing due to the storm heading our way. There were also a lot of mosquitoes near the water and I did not want to get eaten up 🙂

Now for some sleep to help overcome my jetlag.

Tuesday Evening Walk

After dinner tonight I took a walk around the Kingbridge Centre grounds.

There are some nice trails on the grounds that wind through a scenic forest.

The trail also ran along a stream and since dusk was approaching the mosquitoes were also a bit annoying.

Do you see the bird silhouetted in the sky?

kingbridge centre, canada, trail, trees, sunsetAs I was almost back to my room I took this picture of a thunderhead lit up by the setting sun. There were several flashes of lightning in the clouds and you could hear a bit of thunder. The storm passed to the north, but a couple bands of  thunderstorms are working their way toward the area so it may be a bit stormy overnight.

Now for some sleep.
