This evening I looked out the kitchen window and saw a cloudy sky. I knew that there would be some interesting views as the evening progressed.
During commercials, as I was watching some of my favorite shows, I wandered out and took some pictures.
Here was one of the first pictures which was taken while the sun was still behind the clouds. The sky below was still well lit. I really like the silhouettes in this picture.
As the sun dropped further the bottom of the clouds lit up and the shadows deepened.
A little later the color of the clouds started to change. To the south they were softening to pinks and blues as the sunlight was not directly blocked by clouds.
To the west the clouds were tinged with red and the clouds were darker since the sunlight was behind them.
Finally the sun dropped far enough that the color started to fade. However, the sky above was still well lit.
It looks like rain may be coming soon, but is not in the forecast until Saturday. Perhaps I better get out and mow my front yard tomorrow evening.
It has been really weird going outside this week. It is so much quieter than normal.
