This afternoon I went out into my backyard and saw that one of the agapanthus pods was opening.
Here is a picture from yesterday. You can see that I have four large scapes. I am not sure why there are only four. Perhaps it is because I have never divided up the plant. I don’t think I had too many scapes last year either. I may have to check my pictures to see.
Here was my view this afternoon when I went into the backyard. You can see that the two bracts that make up the pod have opened atop one of the scapes.
Here you can see that one bract is missing and the flowers are spilling out of the opened pod.
Here is another view showing the little flowers that will soon open.
Here you can see how the little flowers are packed inside the bract. This side should fall away by tomorrow and it won’t be too long before the flowers will start to open.
I am looking forward to some beautiful flowers.
