Anker Nativity II

On Friday I posted the smallest of the Anker Nativity buildings.

Tonight I will move to the next largest. This one has two pages for the drawing in the plan book.

Anchor Blocks - Anker Nativity Scene - Ankerstein - Toy BlocksI posted the second page first to show the back of the building. In the list of buildings in the plan book, this design is listed as Crib. In this drawing we also have a shepherd with his sheep and dogs and a woman getting water from the well.

It is designed so that you can put an opaque sheet of paper with an image in the opening. You can then back light the image and have a background inside the building.

Anchor Stones - Anker Nativity Scene - Building Blocks - Christmas Scene - CribNow for the front of the crib. Here we see a more traditional nativity scene. We see the different animals, the family, the wise men and an angel and star in the sky. We will not discuss whether the wise men were really here at this time. We will just enjoy the artistic representation.

If you contrast this structure from the one that I posted last week, you will see that it is not only bigger, but it also has more details since some of the blocks are smaller and there are also new shapes.

You can visit my first post about Ankerstein to find out more about how the set system works.

I have two more Nativity scenes to share that are built with Ankerstein. Look for them sometime before next Friday.

Rainy Day Roses

Today was a rainy day which meant that I had to take some pictures of my roses.

After all, aren’t raindrops on roses some of our favorite things?

When I went out to pick up my newspaper this morning, this was my view. We had some nice rain over night.

I may not be going out to pick up my newspaper in the morning for much longer. The subscription rate is going up 12 more dollars a month, and I already thought it was way too high at 60 dollars a month. Because of new California laws they now have to hire the delivery people instead of them working on contract. This of course drives up the cost.

ranindrops on roses, sound of music, roses, leaves, raindropsI like this picture that has not only a rose bloom but also a leaf that was caught while falling from the tree.

I really love all the raindrops on this rose blossom.

Of course raindrops also fall on rose leaves and are just as nice.

I had planned on mowing today, but it was just too wet. It may not dry out tomorrow, so I may have to just take some time off during the day next week after it dries our to mow.
