Wednesday Word Search – Hat

Welcome to another Wednesday Word Search where I pick a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

Last time I searched for ‘open’ so I thought about searching for ‘closed’.

However, I was inspired by the latest Lego Masters episode to search for something else. The episode last night had them building wearable Lego hats.

The word for tonight is: Hat

This may be interesting as ‘hat’ is sometimes just part of a word.

Will all the images tonight be of hats?

Santa Hat, Christmas Time, DecemberI knew that a Santa hat would show up in the search.

Hattusha, Turkey, Hittite Capital, Souvenirs, HittitesYou might think that this image showed up in the search because this young man is wearing a hat. However, hat was not in the name, description or meta data for the picture.

This picture shows up because it was taken at Hattusa, Turkey.

Bannerghatta National Park, Lion, tiger, Bangalore, IndiaWhy did a picture of a lion show up in the search?

The picture was taken at the Bannerghatta National Park near Bangalore, India.

Flat Rim Hat, Black Hat, Mark Hall-Patton, Pawn Stars, Halloween CostumeThis black hat was used as part of a costume one year for Halloween.

What Lincoln Believed, Abraham Lincoln, Michael LindThis scan of the cover of What Lincoln Believed by Michael Lind showed up because of the word ‘what’. Other words that brought up images were  ‘that’ and ‘Manhattan’.

I have more images for ‘hat’ but my usual number to share is five, so I will bring this to a close.

Definitely an interesting mix of images from a search for ‘hat’.

Which is your favorite ‘hat’ picture?

What should I search for next? It will probably depend on where my mind is wandering next time.

Turkey Trip Memories

This week my friend Luke, who I have met up with in Israel for digs and tours, is in Turkey. This is bringing back some memories of my trip to Turkey in May of 2014. It is hard to believe that it has been seven years ago.

Red Hills of Turkey - Turkish countryside - Red Hills - Trip to HattushaThis part of Turkey reminded me of where I grew up in Kansas. We were surrounded by Red Hills.

Lion Gate - Hattusha - Ancient Hittite Capital - Ruins of HattushaIt was really cool to see the Lion Gate in the ancient capital of the Hittites.

Goreme Open Aire Museum - Rock churches - Cappadocia - Picture of meVisiting the Goreme Open Air Museum in Cappadocia was another interesting experience.

Kapadokya Balloons - Cappadocian Balloon Flight - Hot Air BalloonI also saw this area from the air as some of use took a ride in a hot air balloon.

Bee on Thistle - Pollen covered bee - thistle - beeI took some great flora and fauna pictures on the trip.

Snow Covered Mountains - Lake - Central TurkeyWe spent a lot of time on the bus as we covered long distances, but had some great views.Perge, Turkey - Perge Ruins - Paul's Missionary Journeys - ArchaeologyWe saw some great ruins, like these at Perge.

Hagia Sofia - Church, Mosque, Museum, Istanbul, TurkeyThe trip ended in Constantinople, oops I mean Istanbul, where one of the highlights was touring the Hagia Sofia.

Someday I would like to go back to Turkey and see the area where the seven churches of Asia were. That is where Luke is this week.
