Inside the Sydney Opera House

In the past I have shared numerous pictures of the Sydney Opera House. However, they have all been of the outside of the building.

On the weekend between training courses I did some sightseeing and decided to take a tour of the opera house.

Sydney Opera House, Sydney, opera, Down Under, Inside the Opera HouseWe then visited the concert hall. I had to take a picture of the ceiling as it was very interesting.

Sydney Opera House, Sydney, opera, Down Under, Inside the Opera HouseThe concert hall has an interesting look. I can just imagine my friend Jennifer playing on the stage. She was part of a youth symphony that traveled to Sydney and played there.

Sydney Opera House, Sydney, opera, Down Under, Inside the Opera HouseHere is the foyer where the patrons enter and also congregate during intermission. I remember the great views from the foyer, especially of the Harbour Bridge.

Hard to believe it was 15 years ago when I took the tour.

A Sunny Day at West Lake

Tonight I have been watching the U20 Track and Field Championship from Nairobi and have not been thinking about what to post.

However, while looking for something else I ran across a picture I used from a trip to Hangzhou, China that I took almost five years ago.

I then remembered a post that I wrote back in 2018, so I am sharing it here.

Here are Umbrellas on a Sunny Day.

Umbrellas, West Lake, Hangzhou China, Sunny DayA colleague and I had been in Shanghai working with a new product and on our last day took the train to Hangzhou to visit West Lake.

It was a very hot and sunny day and there were a lot of people walking around with umbrellas.

I always like taking pictures of people with umbrellas, so I ended up with many opportunities.

Umbrellas, West Lake, Hangzhou China, Sunny DayI really like this umbrella. It has a beautiful pattern and the color goes well with the dress that the lady is wearing.

I also took quite a few pictures of sculptures. Perhaps someday I will also share some of them.

We had to be careful of the umbrellas while we were walking. Not something you usually think about on a sunny day.

I think that this lady is not using her umbrella for the sun. You can see that it is a bit windy and cold and it is probably raining hard in the sculptors imagination of this scene.
