Sunday Drive Home

Sunday afternoon I had a nice drive home through the valley.

Sunday drive, central valley, tomatoes, hills, rain, greening hillsIt looked like most of the tomato harvest was over for the year. I saw several tomato harvesters parked along the edges of the fields.

Sunday drive, central valley, tomatoes, hills, rain, greening hillsLooking way out to the hills you could see that they are starting to turn green after the recent rains. Soon the hills will look like it is spring time if you lived in other areas of the country. The wonders of the rainy season.

Late October Roses

This afternoon I did some yard work, so thought I would share some late October roses.

late october roses, yard work, fall, autumn, rosesThis next rose is on my Mister Lincoln rose bush. I am still getting nice large blooms that are very fragrant.

late october roses, yard work, fall, autumn, rosesThe rose bush is a little shorter this year. It didn’t make it up into the eaves like it has in the past years.

late october roses, yard work, fall, autumn, rosesI still have a lot of yellow roses on my bushes. Do you see the rose petals on the freshly mown grass? These are the petals from the rose in the first picture. They were all knocked off when I was trimming the grass around the bush.

I will probably have roses for another two months so have a lot more to enjoy this year.
