Remembering 2005 Travel Memories

Tonight I was looking through some of my pictures to find inspiration for a post. I ran across a folder titled Best of 2005 and remembered that I had chosen my best picture from each month that year and placed them in the folder.

I thought that I would share some pictures from the folder tonight, and then I remembered that I had written about some of them before. I started looking and found the post titled Travel Memories that I had written back in 2016.

Some of the pictures that I took that year are still some of my favorites of all time.

Here is the post with one little change.

Which of the pictures do you like best?

Travel Memories (5/13/2016)

Tonight I was looking through some folders trying to find inspiration for a post.

Since I am tired tonight after a long week I decided to just post some pictures from a very busy year of travel eleven seventeen years ago.

Burgau Bridge, Burgau Germany, Jena Germany, Stone Bridge, Old Bridge, Saale RiverDuring one of my trips to Jena that year I took one of my favorite pictures of the Burgauer Brücke. You can click on the link to find out more about this old bridge.

Sunrise at the station, weimar, germanyWhile waiting for a train in Weimar, Germany I took this interesting picture of the sunrise.

Seoul, South Korea, Old and Modern, Palace, SkyscrapersI also went to South Korea that year and took this picture in Seoul. I like the mix of the old and the new in this picture.

Bangalore, India, Swimming Pool, TropicalA trip to India was also made that year. Here is the swimming pool at the hotel that I stayed at. Bangalore was a nice place to visit in February when it was cold and rainy back home.

Bueno Aires, Argentina, Recoleta, CemetaryDuring a visit to the Recoleta cemetery in Buenos Aires, Argentina I took a lot of pictures. This was one of my favorites.Singapore, River, Night PictureI also was in Singapore late in the year and took this picture just outside one of the restaurants we visited. Mexico City, Museo Nacional de Antropología Here is another interesting picture from the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico City.

I am thinking of all the places I wandered to in 2005, it was definitely a year full of travel. South Korea, India, Germany, Mexico, Germany, Argentina, Germany, Singapore, Germany and then Germany again.

Where will I wander to next?

Wednesday Image Search – Nea

Welcome to another Wednesday Image Search where I pick a string of letters or a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

After searching for ‘lea’ last week I will search for ‘nea’ this week.

What images will I find?

Village near Derbe - Village Elder - Turkis village elder - White BeardsThe first image was taken in a village near Derbe, Turkey. I was on a tour of Turkey and we were stopped to ask directions for the tel of Derbe. You see me here with one of the villagers. Most of the images I found this week were of things that were near somewhere or something. However, I only used two of them.

Camel, Israel, Dead Sea, Camel RidesFor  the second image we have a camel near the Dead Sea.

Amish, Mennonite, Genealogy, Hugh F. Gingerich, Rachel W. KreiderThis image is of one of my resources for Amish genealogy. I was able to trace back most of my Amish family lines in this book. I often use it to see how I am related to others who have Amish ancestry.

Lokanta, Mediterranean Grill, Pleasanton, Shish kebabs, Turkish FoodThis picture is of grilled meat at a restaurant in Pleasanton called the Mediterranean Grill.

Unearthing the Church in Turky, David Winwood, Archaeology, History, TurkeyFinally we have an image of the book Unearthing the Church in Scripture and Turkey by David Winwood. Some of the pictures that I took during a tour of Turkey appear in this book. See: A Book in the Mail

I had some interesting ‘nea’ pictures to choose from. Most had the word near in the title.

Which is your favorite of these ‘nea’ pictures?

What should I search for next? I still have a few more ‘ea’ searches I want to share.
