Braman's Wanderings

This morning I watched the Coronation of King Charles III and some of the images brought back memories from a trip to England at the end of the last century.

One was this picture that I took of Buckingham Palace. My colleague and I had taken a hop off/hop on bus tour of London and made this one of the stops.

Here is the big fountain that is in the plaza in front of Buckingham Palace.

We also went through a museum by the palace.

Since these pictures were taken so long ago, I had to think twice about this one. Had we seen the carriage that was used today? I then noticed that this was a picture that I took of a picture. You can notice the black along the bottom of the picture.

There was also another picture of a picture the showed more of the horses. It was amazing today to see the many horses in the parades.

Here is a picture of the gates in front of the palace. I am sure that they look a bit different now than what they did almost 25 years ago.

Here is a picture showing the side gates. One of the interesting things was to see the troops reposition themselves while marching so that they could go through these gates.

It was an interesting coronation. An interesting mix of ancient and modern. However, I would have liked to have seen more of the old customs.
