Wednesday Image Search – Var

Welcome to another Wednesday Image Search where I pick a string of letters or a word and share some of the images I find in an image search of the blog.

Last week I searched for ‘uar.’ This week I will proceed to ‘var’ as I extend the sequence.

What images will I find?

Butterfinger, Fun Size, Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups, Halloween, CandyThe first image is of some Butterfinger varieties. There are a lot of different types of candies around Halloween.

Saturday Walk, Carl Zeiss Innovation Center, Dublin, California, ConstructionThe next image is of construction on Dublin Boulevard near where our office now is.

Varenna, Lake Como, Italy, VillasHere we have a picture of Varenna, Italy on the shore of Lake Como. This was an old digital picture taken with a camera that saved pictures on floppy disks so is not so crisp. This reminds me of puzzles we put together as kids.

Place of the Skull, Golgotha, Gordon's CalvaryHere is a picture taken about ten years ago of Gordon’s Calvary in Jerusalem. It looks a lot different from when it was first proposed in the 1800’s as being the ‘place of the skull.” It has changed a lot even in the last ten years and probably didn’t even look like a skull 2000 years ago.

Neutral Density Filter, Dark Filter, Variable Filter, Eclipse Photography, Solar EclipseFinally we have a variable filter wheel that I used in constructing an eclipse viewer.

There were only a few ‘var’ pictures to choose from. I hope you enjoyed my selections.

Which is your favorite of these ‘var’ pictures?

What should I search for next?  Since I am following a series with ‘?ar’  the next one will probably be ‘war’ as it looks like I have a good selection to choose from.

Oak Island – Season 10 Finale

Season 10 of The Curse of Oak Island has finally come to an end after a year of new discoveries and theories. They have wandered all over the island and across the pond as they investigated the mystery.

This week on Oak Island they started by showing them drilling a larger probe hole at the bottom of the Garden Shaft. They were looking for the possible tunnel.

The team members also took a look at the circular stone structure on Lot 5. They continued to excavate to determine the extent of the structure.

They had a meeting about the wood fragments from the stone ramp in the swamp. One fragment came back with a possible date as early as the late 15th century.

Curse of Oak Island, History Channel, Did they find anything?Of course, one thing to remember is that the dig season was already over as they aired the episodes. They had taken the time to determine how to present things each week to build suspense and keep viewers tuned in. It is interesting that as I write this for the season finale, the next season has actually started on Oak Island. Someone commented on a previous post that they are already drilling holes again in the Money Pit area.

oak Island, Money Pit, Mahone BayOn Lot 5 they continued to investigate the circular stone structure. The structure of the surrounding wall may have a section filled with rubble similar to the old stone wall they found. They also found some old nails with metal detecting which may show there had been a structure built atop the structure.

Rick and Marty descended down into the Garden Shaft after they were unsuccessful in penetrating the possible tunnel with the larger drill bit.

Gary also joined them with his metal detector and got a non-ferrous signal while scanning the area at the bottom of the shaft.

Unfortunately for them, it was the last day that they could be in the shaft as the permits were expiring and they would also need new permits to excavate deeper.

oak island, curse of oak lsland, satellite, money pitIn the last war room conference of the season they talked about some of the finds made throughout the year. They also share some more water testing results and it seems that there is something significant within 15 feet of the bottom of the Garden Shaft.

The last part of the episode was filled with hope of finding something in the next season as the team shared some last impressions.

The team then made their physical departure from the island, but I am sure that the island will be deep in some of their thoughts during the off-season. They will still be their emotionally as they continue to analyze the results from the season.

There was of course no preview of the next episode as the season has ended.

Will there be a season 11? Based on the talk in the season finale, they will back again. (Plus, it seems that they are already back at work)

I am sure that in the next months there will be some Digging Deeper episodes and also special episodes about theories, etc…

I have a list of books that I want to read before the next season airs. I may share something about them when I start reading them.
