Season 10 of The Curse of Oak Island continues to show new discoveries and theories.
This week on Oak Island they started by showing the continued work on the Garden Shaft. The shaft is filled with muck and they are started to remove it with the hammer grab tool. They also talked about the results from more water samples from the Blob area.
Of course, one thing to remember is that the dig season is already over. They have taken the time to determine how to present things each week to build suspense and keep viewers tuned in.
The water sample results were interesting as they found evidence of other metals that make up Bronze and Brass which are also of interest. The area of interest in the Blob was redefined into what is now know as the Baby Blog. They started drilling in the Baby Blob to see what they can find.
They did not find much in the cores from the bore hole, but the material was loose which could indicate that there is something nearby that was disturbing the earth.
The old stone well was drained again to look at the structure of the well and they talked about removing the surrounding stones for better investigation of how it was put together. The team brought in an expert to look at the well and he said that it was well made and was constructed to last a long time. It may also be similar to a well that was found on the mainland that has some Templar connections.
Metal detecting was done again about 110 meters inland from the well. A possible handle to a spoon or fork and an old button were found. They estimated that they may come from the 18th century which may predate the finding of the Money Pit. Then an item was found that got the team excited and it looked like it was a piece of jewelry.
The piece of jewelry was put into a scanner and it turned out to be quite intricate. Over the next few days additional testing will be completed to get a better look at it, and to determine what it is made with.
At the end of the episode it showed a couple of the members of the team descending down into the Garden Shaft. There were some great views back up the shaft and of the walls of the original shaft. They were excited to finally be under ground in the shaft.
In the preview of the next episode they showed continued work on the Garden Shaft. They showed an original hand made ladder from the shaft which looks quite interesting. They also started a new bore hole in the Baby Blog. In this bore hole they found wood. They also showed some XRF results that showed some Gold in a wood piece. It will be interesting to get better context for this bit of information.
It looks like it will be interesting next week.
What will they find?
