Tonight I stopped to fill up my gas tank.
This is the second time I have had to fill my tank this year, which is already more times that I filled it last year. Last year I only filled my tank one time.
The price for gas tonight was only $5.23.9 a gallon. This is much less than it has been for the last month. I have seen gas prices over $6 dollars during the last month. I was tempted to wait until I was closer to empty and see if the prices continue to drop. However, I had the time this evening and the gas station was not so busy. I would rather not wait in line if I am in a hurry to fill up later.
It was actually a bit embarrassing, not sure if any one noticed, but I pulled up to the pump on the wrong side. I don’t fill up enough to remember which side to fill up on. I do really like the gas tank on my car now as I don’t have to unscrew the cap to fill up.
My total came to $56.40 for the full tank. However, this is not my most expensive tank of gas. Back in October, 2012 I paid $64.15 for a full tank of gas in Old Blue when gas was $4.45.9 per gallon.
It was nice to see a full tank of gas along with a full battery.
I checked to see how many miles I traveled on my last tank of gas. My last fill up was in January at about $3.40 a gallon. Since then I have driven 2,000 miles at an average of 183.7 mpg. Of course, I have also charged the batteries many times since then.
It is nice that gas prices have dropped, but really glad that I have my plug-in hybrid that helps me save money no matter what the price.
